Serra Cremer
Serra Cremer
Serra specializes in executive education and corporate capacity building in the field of business and human rights.
“At the age of 11, I decided I wanted to be a lawyer when I grew up and help seek justice for people who have been wronged. In law school, I focused on international human rights law – along with corporate law – and completed two human rights projects, one in West Africa and one in the Middle East. Both projects focused on protecting the rights of indigenous peoples.
After graduating in the midst of the global economic crisis, I found myself working as a corporate lawyer, advising boards of directors on M&A deals, financing projects and IPOs. With a few years in high heels and high rises under my belt, I went on to become the managing director of an executive communications firm, spending the next six years coaching over 100 senior executives and hundreds of professionals in multinational corporations on intercultural communication, public speaking and persuasion skills.
It was during this time that I was introduced to the field of business and human rights. Since then, I have assisted corporations and international nonprofit organizations to integrate human rights into their business practices. Prior to co-founding CORE, I established a sustainability academy, created customized corporate sustainability learning programs and helped train thousands of business professionals and rightsholders on how to respect human rights in their industries.”
