The EU Forced Labour Regulation (EUFLR) prohibits placing or making available products made with forced labor on the EU market, as well as their export from the EU. Although the Regulation will apply from December 2027, preparations are already underway. Companies across industries are taking steps to assess their exposure and strengthen their approaches to addressing forced labor risks.
In this webinar, we will explore what the EUFLR means for companies, what will be expected of them and the tools the European Commission is currently developing, particularly the forced labor database and implementation guidelines.
Designed as a candid exchange rather than a slide-driven presentation, this session will bring together human rights specialists and a representative of the European Commission. It will feature a practical discussion on how companies can prepare for the EUFLR, unpacking key requirements, expected enforcement approaches and the latest developments relevant for corporate implementation.
Together with Javier Martín Cerracín (EU Commission), Cecilia Barral Diego (CORE) and Liesbeth Unger (Human Rights at Work) and moderated by Lisa Szeponik (CORE), we will discuss:
- What does the EUFLR entail?
- What will be expected of companies?
- How will authorities enforce the EUFLR?
- What tools is the EU Commission currently developing and how can they support companies?
- How can companies tailor, strengthen and complement existing practices to enhance their approach to forced labor risk assessments?
- How can the EUFLR database support companies’ human rights due diligence?
