The CORE team shares 3 tips for successfully implementing the EU CSDDD

The CORE team shares the three most important lessons learned from their experience setting up corporate sustainability due diligence systems for corporations.

With the newly adopted EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), human rights due diligence requirements will soon emerge across EU countries. In Germany, an extensive national law on human rights due diligence, the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG), entered into force in January 2023.

Since then, the members of the CORE team have helped numerous multinational companies of diverse sizes and sectors set up human rights risk management systems that align with the LkSG requirements. These legal obligations are in essence very similar to those of the CSDDD, as both are derived from international business and human rights frameworks such as the OECD Guidance and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

In a new CORE Message series titled “3 Tips for CSDDD Success”, we share the three most important lessons learned from our experience supporting businesses in implementing sustainability due diligence processes. These insights are intended to help you leverage best practices and avoid common mistakes organizations make when setting up human rights due diligence systems.
